My baby is 9!!

It hardly seems possible that it was nine years ago that my life was made complete... She has grown to be so beautiful and talented and the loveliest little person imaginable!
As you can see she has something of a passion for the W.I.T.C.H. programme. I was thrilled to find her a personalized birthday card and cake topper on the internet, so we cooked up the cake yesterday and decorated it this morning.

Happy Birthday, my precious girl! May every year bring you more joy and delight - just as you bring to us :o)

Christmas joy

Well, I think these pics pretty much speak for themselves! Thankfully the kids are still young enough to believe in the magic of it all!! May they never stop!!
I hope you all had special Christmas times with loved ones and that you've got fun pics for your photo albums!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Christmas cookies

Here's my gorgeous girl making Christmas biscuits - and though I say so myself they turned out to be very scrummy! A tried and trusted recipe from Nigella Lawson - and pretty foolproof - as it needs to be as I am not the world's greatest baker! We then had great fun decorating them all - but I forgot to take a photo before they all got eaten.

Magical mist

Only a couple of hours after it lifted, the fog has descended again... Can you believe these shots are taken just outside our house?? It looks like Avalon. Such magic right on my doorstep, I'm speechless...

On a cold and frosty morning...

We haven't had any snow here in England, but we have freezing fog - yuck! But as soon as it lifted some, I was out for a brisk walk and I just HAD to take a picture of this stunning hedge!

My wish...

... for all those I know and love...
This is from a beautiful Soul Colors calendar I bought from Artella which arrived this morning, and I want to share this with everyone! As we approach the darkest time of the year (the winter solstice is on Friday) may we each remember this precious truth.
My light is shining all the more brightly today having spent the weekend being attuned to Reiki level I. I can now practise reiki on myself and my friends and family.
There are no words to describe the beauty of the ceremony and the experiences of this awe-inspiring weekend. All I can do is publicly thank Sally Canning of Inner Solutions for her openness and love. (Not to mention her scrummy lunches!) http://www.innersolutions-uk.com
I indeed know my life will never be the same again...

Serendipity? Synchronicity?

The other week I dashed off an email in response to a negative comment I'd read in the Sunday Times about a TV programme I really enjoy called QI. Anyway they printed the email in the following week's edition... the producers of the show read it and got in touch to offer me the book of the series (which was already on my Amazon xmas wishlist!) The book arrived yesterday and I had such fun last night reading bits out to Nick!
It's full of all those quirky facts you thought you already knew, but which you don't! Did you know that in actual fact Henry VIII only had two wives? The other 'marriages' were annulled and were not considered legal marriages, so the women were not his actual wives! And while Everest may be the highest mountain (measured from sea level), Mauna Kea in Hawaii is the tallest mountain (measured from the bottom on the sea bed), it's over 33,000 ft tall!!
I LOVE this kind of stuff!! And I love it even more when I get something I've written published AND I get a free book!!
Sometimes life is just too cool!!

Esther's latest creations

Unlike my dear friend Zorana who is managing to produce gorgeous art even while struggling with back pain (check out her latest pieces at Zoranaland!), I'm doing nothing but loll on the sofa listening to music while my body fights this chest infection...
Thankfully Esther is producing some wonderful art :o) She drew this funky lion and her hand reaching for a big shiny apple while watching TV after school yesterday... She can never just sit and watch TV - she's always drawing or making something at the same time!! Pretty much like Teesha stitching away her latest creation posted on her blog...
Me... I have to be in that all-consuming creative mood where I paint, draw and collage for hours on end giving it my total concentration... I simply can't do it while doing something else...
Isn't it wonderful that we're all so different ???

Christmas is coming....

I'm a poorly bunny at the moment - with a nasty chest infection, but thankfully my artistic daughter was able to step up and make sure the christmas decorations got put up at the weekend! She's done a wonderful job with the tree (I can never bring myself to buy a real-chopped-down-in-its-prime-for-my-indulgence-tree) and the other decorations she placed in her bedroom window. I just love the E made out of tinsel!!! THANK YOU ESTHER for doing such a fabulous job!!!
