Wellness Wednesday: Remembering...

one year ago today, five intrepid explorers braved the snow storms to meet for lunch in thirsk, yorkshire. these five gorgeous girls had never met in person before, but they were cyber-sisters having joined the ranks of violette's glitter sisters the previous year.
the picture is courtesy of kai, who was visiting from the US, and shows from left to right: daisy lupin, kai, denise aka mrs nesbitt, sue and me :o) we had the most wonderful time together laughing, exchanging handmade gifts, enjoying the scrummy lunch, trying not to drink too much wine...
one precious moment in time...
one year later, dear daisy is no longer with us having passed away suddenly last june, i am no longer the able-bodied, independent person i was - what a difference a year makes...
remembering isn't always easy... sometimes we're reminded too sharply just how fragile our life is... we just want to relive that moment again and again as we were - alive and happy, full of laughter... remembering just reminds us of what we've lost and makes our souls ache...

I never knew Daisy, even in cyberworld, but I bet that she would look at that picture and smile and be happy. That picture is full of life, as I imagine the moment must have been too, and I know that all of you are, still, because all the sad things in the world can't take that away.

Aloha Claire,
I'm so very glad that I got to meet you and the other girls. Life can come and go in a minute.
I'm very thankful for every minute I spent with you, and getting to know you.. It was worth the trip and I can't wait for round two in Sedona.
PEace, Kai xx

What a thing to remember for years, what a thing to remember with tears!

So the poem goes.

It certainly does - but how wonderful to have stored up those memories to think back on.
