Sacred Life Sunday: A day of rest
i'm spending the day resting having been out most of friday...
tina and i drove up to leeds to meet friends for dinner and the theatre. we had an early dinner at raymond blanc's new leeds brasserie - his la petite maison in oxford used to be favourite restaurant :o) then off to the grand to see the history boys by alan bennett - it was brilliant!! it was a full house - i can't remember the last time i experienced a full theatre (grantham is something of a cultural wilderness, i'm afraid...) the acting and the script were superb - such humour, such pathos, bennett is the master at both!!
i realized how much i love live entertainment - the immediacy of it, the direct connection to the emotions of the actors and the audience!! i must make the effort to see more of it, and expose the children to it...
maybe a panto at christmas....

HI Claire,
Its good to see a post from you. I feel the same way about entertainment. I especially like hearing music played live. A day of rest sounds nice. Have you read Eat Pray Love? Thats what I am reading now and I think you would like it.\

Hi, Claire, Good for you that you found something that brings you joy :) Love and blessings, O
Claire, what a great time you describe! The theatre is gorgeous, as is the new brasserie.
I'm with you--there is nothing to match the energy and magic of live performance. My eldest has been performing since she was less than ten years old, and I never weary of seeing her.
And, my Sacred Sunday post will be about my stationary bike, and the book you will see in the picture? Eat Pray Love! I'm rationing it by only reading when exercising. Otherwise, I'd finish it too quickly! It really is a marvelous read.
If you think Grantham is culturally lacking come to the village! LOL!

We must meet up soon!
Aloha Claire,
You are so right about live entertainment. Mr Dan and I go to live shows at least 4 times a year, and lots of free things..
It's just so refreshing to see things happen rather then having a rewind button..
peace and love, Kai xx
I am another who forgets how much I like live entertainment... and then when I see it, I wonder, why don't I go see things like this all the time?
Hi Claire. The theatre looks amazing! It's a shame, we have a lovely little theatre here in Grantham but the plays/shows on offer are not always that uplifting. Hope you're feeling stronger after your quiet day. x
Didn't see History Boys live, but did see the movie and loved it. I haven't seen live theatre in ages but always love it.
I love live entertainment too. I am glad you had a terrific time!

Hi Claire, your evening out sounds wonderfully uplifting. I'm off to Edinburgh with Amanda my 14 year old step daughter this weekend as a birthday treat and girlie weekend. We too will be going to the Theatre and dining out in style and soooooo looking forward to it. A change of space nourishes the soul. :-)
What a lovely way to spend
an evening.
We have a resturant show here like that.Well it's not on right now.
There is another one that is
showing now with the same chef.
He goes around trying to get
people to clean up there resturants and bring in business again.
I love the theatre also. Dd and I
are going to see some Christmas
shows this season sometime after Thanksgiving.
Have a Blessed Month!

It's been a while since I've had a chance to stop by, and it's simply delicious to catch up with your sacred life. What a BEAUTIFUL place to see live entertainment! Sending you lots of love & blessings tonight and always. xoxo
