Tuesday Thoughts...

I've been so caught up in the maelstrom of xmas preparations and day-to-day 'stuff', i haven't posted since Thankgiving - i can't figure out where the days go... plus i so want to hit the 200 posts mark before the end of the year, so i'm determined to post more this next week!!!

on sunday we went to see the movie Inkheart. it's one of those incredible family movies where everybody, regardless of age, is drawn into it... it hasn't received most exposure in the UK, which is such a shame, because it is BRILLIANT!!!! i've ordered the book from amazon, and i can see us all of us wanting to read it (inkheart is the first of a trilogy written by the german author cornelia funke, followed by inkspell and inkdeath).

it's a wonderful premis: the dad - played by Brendan Fraser in the movie - has the ability, whenever he reads aloud, to bring the characters in a book to life (he discovers he's a 'silvertongue'). trouble is, he doesn't control who, or what, comes out, so the good, the bad and the ugly, can enter our world - such is the power of the written word!! then they discover that whenever a book character leaves the book, somebody else has to take their place...

i won't say any more, 'cos i don't want to spoil the movie :o) but if you and/or your family, are at a loose end this holiday season, go see it - and i promise you, you will not be disappointed!!!
